I thought this for the longest time after college, but had no idea how to find the "more." How was little old me supposed to get "more" out of life?! I got out of college, became a teacher, & moved to Kansas City. By the time I visited home over Labor Day I had hit an all time low that I refer to as my post-college reality check.
I'll never forget the time in LeRoy when a family friend stopped to ask me how I liked teaching. I immediately got the biggest lump in my throat. "ARE YOU ABOUT TO CRY?!," I thought to myself. Here I was, 5 months out of college, a time that I thought was going to be empowering & adventurous, but instead I was on the verge of tears because someone asked me how I liked my new job.
The tears answered the question... This was my life after college. This was the "American Dream."
Where the heck did I go wrong?! I did everything I was supposed to do... I went to college, got good grades, got a degree, worked hard, I wanted to change the world!
But post college, all I found myself saying was, "CUT ME A BREAK, WORLD! THIS CANNOT BE IT!"
I spent years bouncing from job to job or hobby to hobby just trying to find something that made me feel alive, that gave me a sense of purpose. When I wasn't looking, that's when it found me... & with one leap of faith my entire life changed thanks to my fitness business.
What if I would have said "no?" Oh, the thought gives me goosebumps. I'd probably still be wandering & searching for something to fulfill me, jumping from one job to the next. Searching...
I found purpose, passion, family, and FREEDOM in the most unexpected way possible. Sometimes when an opportunity is presented, it doesn't make sense. It's not what you envisioned.
If you are like I was and are searching for more in life, I encourage you to take the leap of faith when you feel that little tug on your heartstrings. Don't ignore your heart string tugs, you feel those for a reason. 💜 You never know where they will lead you. DREAM BIG, people, & take wild leaps of faith.
