Awhile back, I heard a story on the radio about a "Wal-Mart Santa" that would walk around Wal-Mart handing out $1,000 bills to people during Christmas time. I thought about how cool it'd be to be able to do something like that someday.
At the time it was 2012, a few weeks after hearing that story I was opening a post-Christmas credit card bill & nearly having a panic attack over the amount of charges that we'd racked up. My stomach sank, but I just figured it was the "story of my life." Debt. I figured, "That's just the way it's going to be." I mean, we had so much student loan debt, what was a little more credit card debt...?
At the time I didn't realize I was capable of controlling my future. I just thought things happened but chance. This year, we've been so blessed and I wanted to pay it forward. While I may not be the "Wal-Mart Santa" yet, someday I want the impact I have on others to enable me to do that. In the meanwhile, I challenged the coaches on my team to help as many people as possible in November. I told them that I'd donate $3 for each person we helped to sponsor a family in need this Christmas. I was able to write a check to our "adopted family" for all the money raised. HOW IS THIS MY LIFE?! It's SOOO cool to be able to pay this forward when 4 years ago this type of thing seemed SO IMPOSSIBLE in my lifetime.
It is possible today, because I decided to take daily action in order to change my circumstances. I realized that I DID control my future, whether I realized it or not. I faced my fears and took some risks as a Beachbody coach. It's been a life changing decision on every level. You have control over your future too. Whether you are opening up a post-Christmas credit card bill this week and panicking or going back to a job you hate; you get to control your future.
